What do I need to do to start my own at home online business?

I’m interested in opening my own online store and I know how, but what else do I need to do? I’m going to be selling the things my friend and I make such as jewelry, clothing, and aromatherapy products etc. But I’m wondering, do I need to register a company name or anything like that for it to be legal or official or anything? Please I need help I want to get this started as soon as possible.

You have your choice whether or not you want to do business under a company or a sole proprietorship. There are many choices for you if you decide to incorporate: s-corp, c-corp, or llc. If you do not incorporate your business you will need to get a Doing Business As name (DBA) or a fictitious name.

Whatever path you choose on incorporation, you still need to get licensed in your state, county, and city. Depending on where you are going to do business, you will need to apply for several licenses, such as sales tax, using home as office, etc.

How much money is need to start a Online Business from home? What is the most successful business to open?

Me and My Fiance would like to start up a Online business, start from home and hopefully after making some profit from it rent out an office space for our Online business. I work for a Office Supply Company that sells on Amazon and on there own company website, we make very good money here. My Fiance is into Crafts, makes a lot of different items. I was interested in selling Gift ware, like Home Decor items, etc… I have so many ideas, just not sure where to start. The main thing is to find Distributors / Manufacturers that we can buy items at wholesale, and sell it for retail price online. Whats the best thing to do first? Is there a amount that we should start off with? Should we do a business plan? etc.. Any professional help from someone in the business field would be highly appreciate… Thanks

Thats great to hear that you and your fiance are wanting to start your own business online. Selling items bought at wholesale prices is a very lucrative niche in the e-commerce marketplace. I personally run a website selling tennis equipment online that I buy at wholesale prices. The way that I got started was selling items on eBay. How do I start my online home business?

Could anyone advice me as to how to start my online home business? I don’t where to start and what kind of presentations and proposals to send to companies, and who do I send them to (within the company)? Is there a free online program that can help me build a nice email flier? How do I get the contact persons emails? Is there a free downloadable bulk email program that I could use?
I would like to thank everyone who has replied to my questions; however, I’m not looking for a business to start, I know what I want to do, but I donn’t know how to go about it, please read the ad carefully and advice please… thank you.
